AMETRINE
JEWELLERY
A MAGNIFICENT COMBINATION OF AMETHYST & CITRINE, IN ONE GEMSTONE!
Ametrines are a spectacular combination of purple Amethyst and Golden Citrine, creating a beautiful interplay of colours in the one gemstone. They were not readily available on the market until the 1970s, when Ametrines were rediscovered in Bolivia.
The legends say that a Spanish conquistador discovered the Ametrine mine originally in the 1600s, after he received the land as a dowry, upon marrying a Bolivian Princess named Anahi. He sent several gemstones to Queen Isabella of Spain, and then the mine was lost for centuries.
When the mine was eventually rediscovered, it was named after the legendary Princess, who once owned the land. A truly spectacular gemstone, fit for an Empress!
